  19.           Append all of the _v_a_l_u_e arguments to the  current  value  of
  20.           variable  _v_a_r_N_a_m_e.   If _v_a_r_N_a_m_e doesn't exist, it is given a
  21.           value equal to the concatenation of all the _v_a_l_u_e arguments.
  22.           This  command  provides  an  efficient  way to build up long
  23.           variables incrementally.  For example, ``aaaappppppppeeeennnndddd  aaaa  $$$$bbbb''  is
  24.           much more efficient than ``sssseeeetttt aaaa $$$$aaaa$$$$bbbb'' if $$$$aaaa is long.
